Just some thoughts

Thank you Josh for fixing my site! This morning after I got Joshua and Abby off to school, Sarah and I had a pretty relaxing morning around here. It was nice not going anywhere. We worked some puzzles, worked on her numbers and letters..... She really enjoys the one on one time and I really have to remind myself not to get too busy, which is so easy for me to do, since I am goal oriented. I think of the things I need to get done and then want to do them and then get frustrated if I don't get them done.
I have been reading in Job lately and a week or so ago read in Job 1 about how the oxen and donkeys of Job were taken by Sabeans, fire fell from heaven and burned up the sheep and the servants, Chaldeans took the camels, only one of each group of servants escaped so that they could tell Job the bad news, and his sons and daughters died when a wind came and made the house collapse. After hearing all that bad news and basically hearing it all at the same time, this was Job's response.
"Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head, and he fell to the ground and WORSHIPED. He said, 'Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked I shall return there. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away. Blessed be the name of the Lord'."
You know, I have to admit I have an easy life compared to a lot of people. There are times when I think it is hard, but it really is easy when I hear about a lot of other's lives. Sadly and to my shame, I can't say that when I have hardships, losses (and nothing like what Job experienced) my first response is to worship God. It is usually to bemoan the fact that it happened, dwell on what I could have done differently to make it not happen, get frustrated and then fuss over things that I didn't need to fuss about in the first place.... the list could go on and on. I have been thinking about this verse a lot since I have read it and pray that I will be so focused on God, He will be such a part of my life that when frustrating things happen, I hear bad news etc.... my first response will not be to think of me but to think of God and worship Him.
