Yesterday, July 10, the kids and I went to the Homewood Library. They had a lady, (can't remember her name) who won the diving gold medal during one of the olympics, come and talk to the kids. They seemed to enjoy hearing her and then we went out to the parking lot and saw Lily, the cow. The kids have seen/heard this presentation a number of times but enjoyed seeing her milked and hearing about it again. I think the guy comes to their school each year and we saw him last year at this same library.

Afterwards we had some watermelon. When we first went in the library the kids saw the watermelon in a back room. They kept telling me to go look at it- they had never seen SO MUCH watermelon before. I think the ladies said they had 33 watermelons and a good many of them had been cut into slices and placed on carts. When you walked in the children's part of the library, it sure smelled good! We all enjoyed eating as much as we wanted and I am sure they had tons leftover. I think the girls saved most of their seeds and when we got home they planted them in the pots on our porch. I don't know what we will do if all of the seeds come up.
