Camp Worldsong
On Thursday, April 24th, I went with Abby's class to Camp Worldsong. I rode with two other parents and we followed the buses to the camp. The kids had a great time. I went with Joshua last year and it was neat to see the changes they have from last year and this year.

They made something that Indians used to use to send messages or tell messages to people. The kids made one and then had to tell their classmates what their message was. Abby's was "I love you."

Next they went to a large "tent" like structure and it was set up as a rainforest. It had a waterfall, stream etc... in it and lots of animals were hidden in the different layers of the rainforest. They learned about the different layers and had fun finding all the hidden animals.

A lady read them the story of "The Great Kapok Tree" and they helped act it out.

Abby also got to make a rainstick- she had fun hammering the nails in the cardboard tube, though I think she hit her fingers almost as much as she hit the nails.

They got to cook out hotdogs over the fire- though the wind kept blowing the smoke in their faces and they didn't like that at all. We all smelled like smoke when we got back.

I enjoyed getting to be with Abby that day while she was on her field trip! We had a fun time!
