Flight to NY

Mom and Stephen drove the kids and me to the airport last Thursday, so we could fly to NY. The kids were very excited about flying. I was more nervous than excited about flying with three by myself but they did great! We were supposed to leave Birmingham at 9:35 but our flight didn't take off until 10:20. While we were waiting to board the plane, the kids were talking to the couple sitting next to us and he told the girls that they now have girl pilots and did they want to be pilots when the grew up? Sarah said "no", Joshua said he wanted to be the people who were working outside with the planes getting them ready to take off and Abby said, " I want to be the person who shines the shoes." (she had seen some people shining shoes in the airport and wanted to get her shoes done, but they were definitely not the right type) When we took off, Abby kept saying, "have we blasted off yet, are we blasting off?" With that delay, by the time we got off our plane in Atlanta we had 30 minutes to make our next flight in another terminal. A very kind couple helped me out and we ran and got there with 10 minutes to spare. When we arrived, they said our flight had been delayed, so I guess we didn't have to run. I was so thankful God provided that couple to help me though! We ended up sitting there for 2 and a half hours. When we finally got on the plane we had to sit for 45 minutes because there was a backlog of planes waiting to take off. We finally arrived in NY over 4 hours late, but we were just thankful to finally be there! The kids were SO well behaved and received many compliments. They couldn't have behaved any better and I was VERY proud of them! Josh's parents, sister and 7 of the kid's cousins were there to greet us when we arrived, so it was quite the crowd, but it made for a fun arrival!
