Beauty
Here are pictures of two of the flowers on our porch- I LOVE having blooming flowers on our porch again!

We had a friend come home with us from gymnastics today and she and the girls had fun playing for several hours this afternoon. They were trying to put on a show for us and they were having fun with the play makeup. You could say here are two types of beauty- one is God's beauty and another is man's attempt at beauty on God's beautiful little girls!

It reminds me of the verse in Proverbs 31:
"Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised."
They worked quite a while to make themselves "beautiful" and then after Abby and Sarah had their shower tonight it was washed right off and there was no trace left of the "beauty" that they had made. I hope and pray that my girls learn what kind of beauty is most important and long lasting- the inward beauty of a woman who fears the Lord. I also pray that they see it lived out in my life. I am afraid that more often than not, they see attitudes and actions that I would be appalled for them to imitate. I pray that God continues to mold and make me into the woman he wants me to be and that my girls will grow into Godly young women who love Him! It is amazing the AWESOME responsibility we have in training our kids spiritually. I think every day I realize how much more important and difficult that task is! I pray that He will give Josh and me wisdom as parents and that His word would be formost in my mind so that I will "Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect". (1 Peter 3:15) NIV
