More Christmas Parties!
Today (Wednesday) was the kids last day of school before Christmas break. I am SO excited and am so glad they will be home (or with us I guess, we are going to be up North most of that time.) The 9 first grade classes alternated through the different classrooms and had a fun morning today. I helped out in the computer lab from 8 to 11. The kids would come in and design a picture and we would print it out for them. Some of the other rooms were... icing cookies, making reindeer antler hats, playing games, etc.... They seemed to have a lot of fun!Yesterday, Abby and Sarah had their class Christmas parties. Sarah's class ate some snacks, listened to the story of the Candy Cane, made a craft and played Bingo. Sarah was excited about it and I enjoyed being in there.

I left Sarah's party and went to Abby's class party. When I got there they were just starting their book swap. Miss Oliver gave each child a piece of paper with a different word on it. She then read Twas the Night Before Christmas and when the kids heard their word, they could pick up one of the wrapped books in the pile. I thought that was a very creative idea. Abby got a jet airplane book but swapped with one of the boys who was very sad to have gotten a Strawberry Shortcake book. I think they both ended up very happy!

They had some snacks and then played Bingo- which I have decided must be THE game to play at school Christmas parties!

When her party was done, I checked the kids out, so we got home a little bit early. Abby had a tea party later on that afternoon that one of her ballet friends was having. She had the best time playing with all the girls!
