Well, looking at the pictures reminded me all about before we left. The kids last day of school was Wednesday, so on Thursday we ran some errands and then got home. One of the errands was to get some mice for Joshua's snakes. Unfortuantely, they chewed out of the box on the way home and were running around the car. I caught them but one got back out and I couldn't get it, as I was in traffic and on the road. When we got home, we found it had gone up in the dashboard. While I was trying to catch it, Joshua went ahead and fed his snakes the other two mice and while he was in the process of doing that, the power went out. Then Josh called and said he wouldn't be home until late from work. (we had planned on celebrating our Christmas that night before the kids went to bed, since we were leaving the next day). I was afraid the mouse would chew through the wires in the car, so one of our neighbors looked and decided we should set a mouse trap, so hopefully we would catch it before we left. I fed the kids and they ate by candlelight and I got them in bed. Josh got home a while later and thankfully the mouse had just then crawled out- we tried to catch it and as it was going back behind the dashboard, Josh lunged over the seat and set off the mousetrap with his hand- it was pretty funny. Thankfully he caught the mouse though. We decided to go to bed, since we couldn't really pack, clean up, wash clothes etc... with the power out. I forget how much we depend upon electricity and how thankful I am for it! We left the light on so it would wake us up when it did come back on. It came back on about eleven, so we stayed up til about 2:30 trying to pack up, wrap gifts, straighten etc.... We went to bed and were up around 6:30 or so and celebrated our Christmas with the kids, took the tree down, tried to finish washing clothes, packing etc.... Was rather crazy but we did get off ( thanks Mom, Stephen and Bryan for dropping us off at the airport!) We had some delays etc... but finally got to Josh's parent's house at 2 in the morning. We were thankful to be there!! Here are some pics from our Christmas and plane trip. In the first picture, the kids are acting out "sore afraid" when Josh was reading the Christmas story.

We gave Joshua a chair for his room so he can sit in it while he reads. He also got an MP3 player. He wanted a radio, but we didn't want him to be able to change channels and listen to just anything he wanted, so we chose this idea and Josh put the music we (and he) likes on it. Here he is trying it all out while we were getting ready to go.

Here we are on the plane. Josh took the pictures before the plane filled up.
