Joshua's Birthday Party
Today we had a few of Joshua's friends get together to celebrate his birthday. We went to Moss Rock Preserve in Hoover and had a great time. They had a festival going on the same day and we read that everyone had to park at the Hoover Met and ride a bus in. I was really worried about that but the people in charge were very nice and worked it out that anyone coming to the party was allowed to park at the preserve. The kids climbed on the rocks and they enjoyed "exploring" the caves with the small flashlights that we gave as party favors. We also hiked up to an area that sometimes has a waterfall and thankfully today God allowed there to be a small one. The last time we were there (about a month and a half ago) there wasn't one because we hadn't had any rain in so long. Josh gave mini science lessons along the way about the different plants and animals that we saw.

I made Joshua snake cupcakes and the kids sat on a boulder and ate them. The weather was absolutely perfect and Joshua was thrilled that his teacher, Lauren Morse, was able to come. I think she went far above and beyond the call of duty to attend his birthday party.
