Arrival of Noah Kristopher Burtoft!! (and other not so important things) :-)
Bec and Kris welcomed little Noah today! We were all SO excited to meet him!! He was 2 and a half weeks early, weighed in at 7lbs. 6 oz. and was 20 and 3/4 inches long. He is also adorable and looks JUST like his daddy! Mom and baby are doing well. The kids and I went up to the hospital when Bec was almost 10 cm dilated, but Noah's heartbeat kept falling when she would push, so they had to slow everything down to let them rest. I didn't know how long it would be and the kids were getting rather restless, so we went home for around an hour and came back up when he was born. Here are a few pictures of us waiting in the waiting room.
Sarah wanted something to draw on and we didn't have any paper, so I found a stack of free magazines and got her one to draw on. This is what she did- she said, " He's a cat."
This evening, the kids and I went to the library for the end of the summer reading finale. They had hotdogs, chips and ice cream for dinner. They also had face painting and a musician playing there. The kids seemed to have fun- I was helping hand out hot dogs, so they stood in line to have their face painted and played around while I was busy.
On Sunday, we had pizza for lunch and I let the kids make their own. They had a lot of fun making AND eating it!!
On Monday the kids and I went to the Homewood Library for their summer reading finale. The Auburn Raptor Center came and it was very interesting! They brought a Turkey Vulture, Bard Owl, Barn Owl, and a Golden Eagle, along with maybe 2 others. The Golden Eagle they brought is the Auburn Mascot, War Eagle 7. It was neat to hear the different sounds the birds made up close and to learn about the birds. I am so thankful for our local libraries and the GREAT kid programs that they have had this summer!
The pictures are rather blurry, I am having trouble taking pictures with the camera. At times the camera works great and other times it has a mind of its own.
please send my congrats to all! what a beautiful baby boy! glad all went well considering and i hope becca is feeling as well as possible after labor! Praise God for this little life!
