beautiful day
Today was a beautiful day and it actually hit 60 degrees here! I was so excited to have some warm weather for a change and after I picked the kids up from school we went to the zoo. They each picked a couple of animals to see and we made our rounds. Joshua wanted to see the snakes (of course) and the baby owl. They have a pair of spectacled owls that laid an egg and it hatched, but it has been so cold, the keepers had to remove it and keep the baby in an incubator. We found it and even got to see the keeper feed it some meat. Very interesting! Here is a picture of the baby owl, though it is rather blurry.
Abby picked the monkeys and the birds and Sarah wanted to see the alligators and the giraffes. Unfortunately the giraffes were not out, but we all enjoyed the fresh air and a chance to run around some! Here are a few pictures of the day- I am not sure what the camera was set on and I couldn't figure out how to change it, so the pictures have a strange color.
The last several times we have gone to the zoo, Joshua and Abby climb up on the fence where the lions are and pretend that they are playing checkers.
Today was also Josh and my 8th anniversary! It is hard to believe it has been 8 years since we were married. My parents kept the kids last weekend, so Josh and I had some quiet time to ourselves Friday night thru Sunday afternoon! Thanks Dad and Mom! Today I didn't see much of Josh- he worked all last night and didn't get home 'til 9:30 or so and then I went and cleaned a neighbor's apartment. Josh brought Sarah to me when he left for school at 10:40 and then he didn't get back home until 3. He had to sleep from then until time for him to go to work, since he had been up for so long. I am thankful we had the weekend. He is such a hard worker and a wonderful, FUN man! I am thankful I can be married to my best friend! God has truly blessed me with Josh! Happy Anniversary Josh!

it's always fun to read what you guys are doing - you ALL are fun! We love watching you guys. The Lord has made you a beautiful family, and it makes me excited about starting our own!
